Ojuela Fluorite with Barite (Ojuela Mine, Mapiimi, Durango, Mexico) - 0324_OF_M3

SGD 155.00
Only 1 available

These dark, violet fluorites are UV-reactive, but unusually so. They shift from a rich purple to a bright, fuschia when put under UV-light, similar to that of Ruby.

Whilst the Ojuela mine has many pockets, they tend to be very small ones, each only producing a few specimens at a time. Furthermore, fluorites, in general, are unusual in the locale.

49 x 44mm

This one was so cool. There was a little piece of barite that was loose, so we pulled it out, and it revealed a cave with two beautiful cubes hidden inside!

We would never have known they were there if not for that loose piece :D
