Multi-Generational Fluorite with Sphalerite & Tabular Barite (Huanggang Fe-Sn Deposit, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia)
3.9 x 2.8cm
This is a gorgeous specimen comprising of cubes upon cubes of multi-generational window fluorite. A fluorite is classified as multi-generational if it comprises of layers and layers of differently coloured fluorite growing over a main core of fluorite. In this case, they have lilac purple cubed fluorites in the core, following by a milky blue layer of fluorite growing over the original core, then a beautiful green.
Because this is Inner Mongolian fluorite, it also means that each layer is UV-reactive, reacting with a different colour of fluorescence.
This stunning cluster grows upon a matrix of sphalerite, and also has a single tabular, gem barite growing on it.
