A super clear piece, despite the cross-directional selenite blade growth. Alas, that clarity is hindered by the matrix on the back.
However, that matrix ends up creating phantoms within the crystal, giving it an effect similar to Lodolite Garden Quartz. There are tiny selenite growths in the hematite-based matrix, and they reflect light beautifully.

Also known as Selenite windows, these beautiful pieces are part of large chunks of selenite, harvested with the hematite-rich matrix. Interestingly, the hematite presents in both the orange/brown form as well as the black form.
These pieces are especially beautiful because of their high clarity, which is what makes them such perfect windows.
Those pieces with the matrix growing on the back (instead of just under) are also reminiscent of Lodolite Garden Quartz because they create beautiful landscapes with which to immerse yourself. Especially useful when you've had a difficult or exhausting day, and can't escape to nature for a breather.
