Weißeck Fluorite (Lungau, Austria) - 2311-WF-A2
84 x 67 x 28 mm
A "tomahawk steak" fluorite, with a nice big glob of densely packed minty fluorites with nice sparkly frosty inclusions.
———
The Weißeck region of Austria is a mineral-rich region filled with beautiful alpine minerals thanks to the tectinic upheaval that created the alps. There are many beautiful fluorites that come from this region, and what we have here are some of the specimens from the Lungau locality. Each specimen is loaded, very densely loaded, with pale green, cubed fluorite crystals that range from almost clear to a rich minty olive-green. Great lustre and color, but be aware that the matrix can ve veeeeeery brittle so handle with care!! (We will of course do our best to pack them as good as we can). The cubes are sharp-edged, with beautifully etched surfaces.
If you want to add an alpine sub-category to your fluorite collection, now's your chance!
