Frazer's Hush Fluorite (Frazer's Hush Mine, Rookhope, Stanhope, County Durham, England)
9.0 x 7.4 x 8.8cm
The Frazer's Hush Mine takes its name from a nearby hushing site which likely dates from medieval times.
(Hushing was a form of hydraulic mining in which a stream was dammed and allowed to pond. Once a sizeable pond is formed, the dam is then intentionally breached, allowing the rushing water to strip away the downstream top soil, exposing bedrock and any ore-bearing deposits present.)
The Frazer's Hush Mine was established in the early 1970s, and shut down in 1999. After the closure, the entrance to the mine was mostly flooded, and so getting new pieces from this area is now impossible.
So, this is a bit of a historical and difficult to get piece. What I like about it is how it comes across as purple but actually has greenish-blue cores and phantoms in parts!
Market Rate: Approximately SGD$350 to SGD430 (Approximately USD$255 to USD$318)

For every $15 spent, we will plant 1 tree to offset the carbon cost of mining, shipping and packaging crystals. These are real and natural products, and so might have some flaws or imperfections. We have done our best to pick the best pieces available, but nature is often imperfectly perfect. Therefore, please only make the purchase if you are alright with this.
