Celestine or celestite is a mineral consisting of strontium sulfate. Celestine derives its name from "caelestis" meaning celestial, which is in turn derived from the Latin "caelum" meaning sky or heaven. It is named in such a way because of its delicate blue color (although Celestine can come in many other colours too).
These specimens are so beautifully gemmy, smooth, and perfect that we absolutely had to bring them in, even though many others have them in varying qualities. They are a lovely sky blue with crazy lustre and gemminess.
