"Blue River" Fluorite Slice (Erongo Region, Namibia) - 2311-BRF-N5
44 x 7 x 36mm
25.23g
This is a rare fluorite from the Erongo Region. For reasons I cannot figure out, miners like cutting off the surface of the fluorite into slices, preserving the crystal points whilst also revealing a honey-syrupy yellow fluorite on the sliced side.
It is called "Blue River" because whole pieces have a streak of blue running through the core of the entire fluorite. However, because of its rarity, those pieces are also very expensive. I have only one in my personal collection.
Not a lot is known about this fluorite because it is a relatively new find.

For every $15 spent, we will plant 1 tree to offset the carbon cost of mining, shipping and packaging crystals.
