The Machów mine is a former, opencast sulfur mine. Sulphur was first disocvered there in 1953, and mined until 1994, when it was flooded and turned into a lake. So, getting new pieces are impossible, and all available pieces are from old collections.
The calcite reacts beautifully to UV light, turning a gentle shade of pink!
