About this Specimen:

211g

82x64x43mm

The darkest and most golden of the bunch!

—————

Golden aragonite is a relvatively rare and beautiful crystal. Its long, acicular crystal structure is made even more beautiful because of the way it grows in fluted sheaths. It is very reminiscent of a sheath of wheat, or even honey cake (although I'm really thinking about Kueh Kingka Ubi Kayu).

There's quite a tussle over what makes for the best specimen - a darker, honey colour or sunflower yellow. Which do you find to be the best?

We do not often hear about yellow aragonite and it's not just because of its general rarity. It is also quite a soft crystal, measuring 3.5 to 4 on the mohs scale, which means its often found already broken, fit only for tumbling and hardly mentioned in specimen form.

It is, thus, fortunate that we've got three sheaths of this amazing crystal tonight!

Aragonite tends to come in various colours, with the most common being the red type. Each colour comes with its own benefits.

In the case of yellow, it is a stone for confidence and compassion. It also encourages us to keep growing and to see ourselves clearly.
