43x35x29mm

Lovely yellow fluorite with green undertones, this specimen has glossy and lustrous faces that the Niederschlag mine is known for. This piece has rich sprinkles of chalcopyrite and beautiful blue edges.

A historically-significant mine, the Niederschlag mine was heavily mined between 1948 and 1954. Its primary material was uranium ore. By 1954, it was mined out.

It was later reopened in October 2010. Alas, it filed for insolvency in April 2023. What the present situation is with regards to the mine and its fluorite-producing future hangs in the air now.
