Chrysoberyl Floater (Santa Teresa, Espírito Santo, Brazil)
The name Chrysoberyl comes from the Greek, and translates to 'gold-coloured beryl'. However, its name is a misnomer because it isn't a Beryl at all. It has its own crystal category and many varieties do exist.
This a thumbnail Specimen of Chrysoberyl. Unlike most Chrysoberyl specimens, this piece did not grow with the classic radial symmetry cluster.
It is a beautiful Gold-green colour with no matrix and slight inclusions. Note: it is not the variety that changes colour under different lights.
